about

This track was inspired from the physical modelling engine of the Arturia Mirofreak and the story of NASA's Messenger probe to the planet Mercury. It is a four-part composition: launch, the journey, the mission and the fall... It took me about two months between recording the initial tracks (mostly the MicroFreak playing sequences and the MicroKorg playing chords and filtered white noise, as seen on the video). I then started working on other projects, while crafting the mix. Earlier this week, I decided the mix was ready, but it lacked something, so I when back and recorded two melodic lines on top of the original arrangement. I'm always curious about classical Indian music, and the concept of Raga. I this the ad lib melodies played here picture some influence from the Ragas. they are not Ragas, but they were planned before recording as a set of scales and rules that directed my improvisation.
